Since school, I've been...
Ran a grocery store in Narrows for 30 years.one of my best experiences was working with my family.My father and mother started the business and I went in as a full partner.As my children grew up they worked and was paid a salary like everyone else.With their money they paid their own way through college which I am very proud of.Being in a family Business taught them they could do anything if they worked for it.I then went into construction until I retired |
My family:
We have 3 children and 6 grand children All of the children and grand children are doing good.They along with my wife of 47yrsare the LOVE of my life.The good LORD has truly blessed me with his grace. |
Life experiences:
Getting married,Going to mountain Lake with the senior class.Working in the family business.watching the kids grow up in our home town.The town is gone as I knew it growing up here.As one of my classmates said this was one of best towns for a teenager to grow up in.The clubs had dances on Friday and some Saturday nights.We knew not to have any trouble or our parents would take care of us.The police didn`t even have to check on us.That is what I call the good old days in Narrows. |
My favorite things in school:
Girls and dancing,Driving fast cars,shooting Pool,hanging out at the drug store,and the boom. |
My favorite things now:
Relax and play with grand children and play pool Riding my Motorcycle.Building old cars and motorcycles.Reenacting Battles of the civil war |
My favorite books, movies and music:
Dirty Dancing One of the best movies of all time.I guess because a lot of us got to dance at Mountain Lake Hotel in the 50`s as a senior class diner and dance before the movie was made there.It brings back memeries that can never be lived over again. |
